EMS 2017 Spring Concert

I feel grateful been taking the role of section leader for both our symphony orchestra and the symphonic winds ensemble.

I learned everybody's part very fluently and was ready to fill in for everyone in the section, and I ended up seriously counting for almost everyone for every piece during the whole concert. Except I was disappointed how I literally counted for two other percussionists right next to me, and they still were both two relaxed and missed almost half of their notes. It frustrated me. Especially on top of our "Rachmarathon" which was challenging enough...

I feel highly grateful for how much my dear colleague worked in our section for symphonic winds. I haven't seen anybody who worked this hard on the parts and with such a serious attitude for a long time. I'm so glad he got to perform with us. As he said, it was the first time he performed with such large ensemble, but I certainly hope this wouldn't be the last time for him.
