The most exciting yet frightening Die Fledermous full opera production with Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Victoria was successful. It was absolutely one of the most enjoyable experiences I have had. Being able to work with our music director, the amazing professional conductor Alan Cook was incredible, one of the best conductors I have met! Pushing myself to take one three percussionists' parts was absolutely amazing, it has lifted myself to a whole different level. I remember standing at the orchestra pit in front of timpani, and getting pretty emotional right in the middle of the playing of the final show Act 3 during No. 16... I literally had tears in my eyes and realising suddenly it was already the final show, and realising how much I have overcome during the short past one week... I received my arranged music literally 7 days ago on the first evening of the rehearsal, then 3 rehearsals, 4 performances, all happened in one week... It was still like a dream... I thought I couldn't do it, and yet, I got through everything...

There were too much stories to share, the cymbal noise I made in the pit due to really crowded, have our dear bassoonist Greg Hannan so kindly looked after me when I was lack of space and couldn't even sit down, thanks to our wonderful conductor Alan Cook who brought me music stands and walked with me to dinners and looked after me, have our trombonist so kindly hand over one of the cymbals to avoid making noise during the final two shows, and I was so glad for the final two shows, I managed to pick up extra percussion notes after knowing the music well and with full confidence... thanks to my friends who came to the show and supported me...

The most importantly, being acknowledged by Alan Cook that I have done good job, and being told that I am really capable to and should work with professional groups was absolutely amazing...
